Electric Vehicle Challenge - Murdoch University
The Challenge of designing and building an electric car is all about teamwork and learning through problem solving. Create a documentary that gives insight into the highs and lows of your school team’s process – how did they meet the challenge, what were their ‘smart moves’. Did they ask the ‘right’ questions to be able to find a solution? Did they solve all the problems or use ‘work arounds’ to overcome issues. How did the team hold up under pressure? Where did the bright ideas come from? Ask them the hard questions.– tell the behind-the-scenes human story.
Electrathon Rules and Regs
General Design Regulations
Power Drive - Omaha Public Power District
The Power Drive Program is an educational effort that challenges high school students to design and build one-person electric vehicles during the school year. In the spring, these teams of students compete with one another at organized rallies in areas such as vehicle braking, maneuverability and endurance.
Welcome to the World Solar Challenge
Known as 'Brain-Sport' the World Solar Challenge participants will traverse more than 3,000km over the Australian continent - from tropical Darwin to balmy Adelaide, in cars powered by nothing more than the sun.
American Solar Challenge - Home Page
The American Solar Challenge (ASC) is a competition to design, build and race solar-powered cars in a cross-country event.
ASC promotes:
* A greater understanding of solar energy technology, its environmental benefits and its promise for the future;
* Educational excellence in science, engineering and mathematics—and the creative integration of technical and scientific expertise across a range of disciplines;
* And, a "hands-on" opportunity for students and engineers to develop and demonstrate their technical and creative abilities.
Electrathon America Home Page
The goal of the Electrathon is to provide a spectator sport that will build public awareness of the capabilities and potential of efficient electric vehicles.
Developed around specific rules designed to keep costs down and competition high, these unique vehicles offer an opportunity and challenge to experiment, learn and compete.
Electrathon is a tremendous educational opportunity and a stimulating sport for schools with industrial arts curriculum combining physics, mathematics, electronics, auto technology and graphic design. It's a hobby for tinkerers and experimenters of any age.
The Electrathon format rewards strategy, skill and common sense, by limiting battery capacity and rewarding endurance.
EV Challenge Home Page
The EV Challenge, a project of Carolina Electric Vehicle Coalition, Inc.,
educates students and the general public on innovative electric vehicle technology and its energy and environmental benefits to society
National Electric Drag Racing Association
The National Electric Drag Racing Association (NEDRA) exists to increase public awareness of electric vehicle (EV) performance and to encourage through competition, advances in electric vehicle technology. NEDRA achieves this by organizing and sanctioning safe, silent and exciting electric vehicle drag racing events.
NEDRA is a coalition of drag racing fans, electric drag racing vehicle owners and drivers, individuals interested in promoting the sport of EV drag racing, EV parts suppliers, EV manufacturers and other environmentally concerned companies and individuals. Working together as a group, we put excitement into electric vehicle drag racing.
